We built Gambit because the gap between strategy and execution kept showing up in the same place.
Leadership.
Not effort. Not talent. Not resources. The missing piece was always someone at the brand level whose job was to define direction and make sure everything downstream aligned to it.
Most organizations we’ve worked with had capable teams and active agencies. What they lacked was strategic clarity at the top. So that’s where we operate.
The issue isn't effort. It's direction.
Gambit Partners
Jeff Weaver
Senior Brand Strategist.
25+ years turning insight into direction for global consumer brands.
Julia McCartney
Senior Brand Strategist.
20+ years defining direction for some of the world's most recognized brands.
Jeff operates at the intersection of strategy and action. He has spent his career doing what most strategists struggle with: not just defining what a brand should stand for, but building the bridge between that conviction and everything the brand actually does.
With deep experience leading brand development, go-to-market strategy, and repositioning across CPG, retail, and consumer categories, Jeff has worked with some of the most demanding clients in the industry. He understands how organizations move, where alignment breaks down, and what it takes to get leadership, teams, and partners pointing in the same direction.
His background spans experiential, content, social, and campaign work at scale, which means his strategy is always grounded in what execution actually requires.
Brands he has worked with include Target, General Mills, IKEA, Kraft, Mondelez, Hershey’s, Pfizer, 3M, and PIF of Saudi Arabia.
Julia brings a rare combination of strategic rigor and organizational clarity to every engagement. With a career spanning global agencies, enterprise clients, and complex brand ecosystems, she has led repositioning efforts, restructured brand architectures, and guided leadership teams through some of the most consequential decisions a brand can face.
After building her foundation in the fashion industry, Julia moved into brand strategy at the agency level, eventually serving as Client Services Director and Managing Director of a global branding agency, where she led major FMCG and CPG accounts across multiple markets.
What sets Julia apart is her ability to see the structural issue underneath the surface problem. She doesn’t just answer the question on the table. She identifies the question that actually needs answering.
Brands she has worked with include Coca-Cola, Heineken, McDonald’s, Nestlé, Kraft, Urban Decay, Brex, and BAT.
Not an agency. Not a fractional CMO.
Something built for a different kind of problem.
Teams execute without alignment. Agencies optimize in isolation.
Marketing works harder and achieves less.
What begins as a lack of clarity becomes fragmentation
across positioning, messaging, and execution.
The issue isn't effort. It's direction.
If you're navigating a moment that requires clarity at the top,
let's talk.
We work best with leaders who are intelligent, under pressure, and done guessing at the source of the friction. If that sounds familiar, the conversation is worth having.
